STRUCTURES: SANTA MARIA DEL FIORE (FLORENCE)
This is a model of Leonardo's Flying Machine. While it
was never built by Leonardo, it was the beginning for many other flight
studies.
He kept a notebook of many inventions, some that were
made and others that were just studies.

Some Great Internet Sites about Leonardo da Vinci
Museum of Science
da Vinci exhibit - This site has lots of information about the
science behind Leonardo's art and inventions.
You are allowed to change colors and see how that changes
the picture. By changing colors, you can make something look far away or
closer.
The Leonardo

A complete biography of Leonardo

Innovative
Engineers of Renaissance - Leonardo
This site shows some of his
scientific studies, even the first robot designed.
Leonardo's Workshop is a mystery that teaches you about the types of materials that were used by artists in the Renaissance. You can compare what they used back then to what they used now. They would have used plaster, eggs and oil for painting, but now we use acrylic paint. It also tells about other subjects that Leonardo was interested in. The disadvantage to this site is you can't save your game, so you have to figure it out in one day if you want to print the certificate. However, it is a very interesting site.
Carmen Sandiego's Great Chase Through Time This is an ad for a game where you can help Leonardo da Vinci find his inventions and the Mona Lisa. There is a good timeline that goes with this.
Leonardo's Codex | American Museum of Natural History - This is an exhibit that was at the American Museum of Natural History. This was one of Leonardo's original notebooks that contained his ideas about rivers and seas, properties of water, rocks, and fossils, air, and celestial light. It has his original drawings and shows what a curious scientist Leonardo really was.
